Pastor Chris grew up in West Michigan, was a youth pastor for several years, planted a church in Chicago with New Life Community Church, and loves that God led his family into ministry here at Pine Trail. Pastor Chris and his wife, Kristi, have been married for over twenty years, have four kids, and they all love spending time in nature hiking, kayaking, and walking the shores of Lake Michigan.

Jason & Darcy have been serving in youth and children’s ministry for over 10 years, with 4 of those years vocationally. They have been married for about 5 years and have one daughter, Ruby. Jason & Darcy love serving kids of all ages here at Pine Trail and are excited about the things God is doing. They enjoy hiking, camping, basically anything that gets them outside, travel, playing music together, and spending time with friends and family.

Kitchen Manager

Becky has been serving as the kitchen manager at Pine Trail for nearly a year now. She graduated from culinary school at Grand Rapids Community College in MI. She has interned in Scotland, worked at a senior living center, daycare, as a line cook at a hotel, and camps for 2 summers. She enjoys biking and camping during the summer and skiing or baking during the winter.

Every summer Pine Trail Camp builds a customized team for the summer groups & camps. From lead summer interns & counselors, to lifeguards, maintenance & kitchen helpers, we are continually searching for upper high school to college students who love God, love kids, love the outdoors, & love to serve. Summer Job Descriptions:

  • Summer Camp Counselor — Will primarily be responsible for monitoring camper activities during a camp week; as well as implementing the values and mission of Pine Trail Camp in a small group setting. They will also be responsible for the safety, growth, and participation of their campers in camp activities. Requirements — Previous work experience in a camp setting preferred, have a relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to share God’s love through all you do, have high energy, loving kindness, and patience at all times, ability to work as part of a team, must be at least 16 years of age, ability to manage groups independent of supervision.
  • Summer Intern — Will be responsible for monitoring counselors and operational staff during a camp week, leading activities, assisting with administrative responsibilities, assisting with programming, in addition to implementing the values and mission of Pine Trail Camp in various settings. You will also be responsible for overseeing the safety, growth, and participation of the staff you are in charge of (male intern-male staff; female intern–female staff). Requirements — Previous work experience in a camp setting preferred, have a relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to share God’s love through all you do, mentoring/leadership experience, have high energy, loving kindness, and patience at all times, ability to work as part of a team, must be at least 18 years of age, ability to manage groups independent of supervision, must live in on-site housing when guests are onsite.
  • Summer Kitchen Staff — Will primarily be responsible for working under the kitchen manager preparing and serving meals for groups and clean-up of kitchen and dining hall. Assist kitchen manager with any tasks needed. Requirements — Work experience in a camp kitchen setting or a restaurant setting preferred, have a relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to share God’s love through all you do, have high energy, loving kindness, and patience at all times, ability to work as part of a team, must be at least 16 years of age, must live in on-site housing during camp season when groups are on site.
  • Summer Camp Lifeguard — Will primarily be responsible for monitoring camper water activities when groups are onsite; as well as implementing the values and mission of Pine Trail Camp. They will also be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of students in pool area and waterfront. Requirements — Previous work experience in a camp setting preferred, have a relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to share God’s love through all you do, have high energy, loving kindness, and patience at all times, ability to work as part of a team, must be at least 18 years of age, must have Lifeguard Certification.
